Holocaust links

http://shamash.org/holocaust/denial/nazi_doc.txt

I really enjoyed this site. It gives actuall speeches that hitler and the nazis gave. Instead of just basic information that we always read about it gives a look into how the Nazi's felt about everything. What made them like Hilter so much. What was so captivating about his speeches. It gives a look into what he felt. Alot of the sites out their relate more to the jews rather than looking into the Nazis. Here is a qoute from one of Hitlers speeches that I thought reallly defined who he was..."Nature is cruel; therefore we are also entitled to be cruel."

http://shamash.org/holocaust/denial/summary.txt

This site is helpful because it gives a timeline of how and when they killed the jews. It gives a list of all the concentration camps and what happened in each one of them, and the date that they were made. It gives a look at the different types of killings, and it tells how many people were killed, and how the Nazis practiced euthanasia there. Over 120, 000 people were killed from the Nazi "Euthanasia" acts.

Reaction to the Holocaust links.

The Holocaust as stated before is something that everytime you read or look at pictures about it you find out more and more. You get a creepy eary feeling when you look at the pictures and read the texts, it effects you as if it happens every single time. There is so much that we can learn from the holocaust, so there is no reanactment of it. Even though there is Genocide in the world today, maybe we can stop it before it escalates. Often times it wasn't just the jews that were being persecuted it was also muslims or christians, or whoever got stuck in that horrible bloodbath. Its important to realize the consequences of our actions because they are people just like you and me, people who have different religions different backgrounds, and it is in our nature as humans to want some sort of scapegoat, someone to put all of our troubles on. Someone to blame for everything that happens, and we see this reaccuring today. It makes you thankful for everything that you have, whether its a little or alot, because these people went months without showering, they were thirsty and hungry, and had nothing to their name. It shows how much a few words can affect a whole nation, and one act can change everything. It shows how easy people can be manipulated, and how easy it is to reshape what we think as a whole. I also found out why Jews were hated, why they werent liked. They were a sub culture, maybe even a counter-culture, and Hitler just didn't like them, and his ruling power over powered everyone else, and created the SS's and the Nazis. Not only was it Germanys fault it was ours for putting on blind folds to what was happening. If we don't recognize Genocide, the systematic killing of any different culture, such as everything that is happening in Africa, than a mistake will surely happen like this again.

America and the Holocaust: Deceit and Indifference

The Holocaust is something we all know alot about, well assumming we do, we've heard about it for years and years in school, how millions upon millions of jews were killed by the Nazi's, and so on and so on. We all understand it was a horrible time, and something that we as all people should be ashamed of. It's funny though how you find out more and more about it each time. Watching America and the Holocaust opened my eyes, even more up to the situation. I never knew that they shipped the Jews to the United States, as if they were slaves. I still can't understand why the jews were that big of a mennace over there, and back home in the America's. I never knew that we also hated them, and thought of them, as basically stated before a mennace. I would really like to know why they were such hated people, other than maybe them not believing in God, but there are so many different religions out there that don't, why would, just them, be the target of the attacks. I never knew that the president ignored the crisis for awhile, and acting like it didn't happen. This basically just all relates to ethocentrism, which basically is people judging other cultures so harsh, because theres is obviously the best. Right? It is horrible that the German people would commit such horrid acts, but it is also bad on our part for putting up a wall, basically, so no jew could immigrate over here. The Death camps were freed in 1945, think about it, its not really that long ago, and it effects us, and how we view all other people. I believe it said that it started in the late 1930's so it last about seven years. Thats years and years of pain and torture ensued on countless number of people. Over three million jews were masacred in ways, and treated so horribly, that some people don't want to believe that it is in fact true. I'm glad we learn about it in school because it helps us to see how powerful dictatorship can be, and how negative actions, effect our youth today. I hope all the Nazi want-to-be people out there understand the true meaning behind the swastika, and realize that its not cool, that in fact it should be considered imbarising.

Ways to be a better writer...

To be able to write is very important. Its a form of communication, it can speak to an audience, it allows us to learn. It gives us stories and it explains things in a easy to understand way. The basic elements of this 015 class is to prepare us for college writing. And even though all of that stuff like Jane Schaffer and Dianna Hacker, I find relatively boring, I understand they will be our friends throughout college. To become a good writer we need to understand the audience, we need to understand what is being asked of us, and we need to write in a way that is appropriate. Good grammer and well organized thoughts are important to write well. Also, what this class is allowing us to work on, is practice. It is important to practice good writing because that is the only way in which you can progress. Also it is important to follow up on the readings in our book, and use what we are learning as much as possible. An important part of writing is also researching. Researching allows us to seem educated when we write, and it's important when entering a four year college. Another key thing, that ties along with this is having scholarly sources, to make sure what you decide to write about is accurate. Also making sure everything is in order and everything is spelled correctly. I think if you put all these things together with alot of practice you have the potential to become a great writer.

Racism essay

The whole basis of racism is that it is involved with society. Psychological and sociological aspects all play into the role that allows racism to be passed down from generation to generation. Considering racism is unavoidable, there plays the role what levels of racism are normal and what are fanatical. What is racism the belief that ones own race is predominant, and this causes a sort of sociological clash between different groups of people, which is pretty much the norm for these days. So is any form of racism really that acceptable. Different standards form from area to area, but when the racism becomes fanatical, and to much, that’s when it becomes a problem, for example when violence becomes an issue. When racism crosses the line is another problem that refers to the fanatical aspects of it, which we will further cover in this essay. As for the people it effects, I believe every group of people are racist, whether or not its about skin color, the size of the person, or any other form of prejudice attitude that we have for one another. Our future generations have been going through phases involving racism. Now we even have a black president running in the office, something that even ten years ago no one would of guessed it was possible. So what I’m trying to say though is no matter how we develop people judgmental accusations will always arise, and inevitably occur. It is with those subjects that I will discuss what is normal and what is fanatical.
